Therapeutic Massage Therapy is a combination of several massage modalities, such as Swedish, Deep Tissue, Trigger Point, and Myofascial massages. Your muscles dictate what modalities and massage techniques are to be used during your therapy, in order to heal muscle aches, pains, and tension. Therapeutic Massage is tailored fit for what your body and muscles need. Techniques used are Deep Tissue, scraping, cupping, hot stones, Trigger Point Therapy, Vibrational Therapy, etc.
Please specify which Reflexology Treatment you would like when you come to your appointment: Foot, Hand, or Ear.
Reflexology focuses on reflex maps of points and areas of the body in the feet, hands, and ears using unique micromovement techniques, such as thumb, finger walking, or wooden instruments, with the goal of creating a response throughout the body.
Reflexology is a type of bodywork that focuses on applying pressure to the specific nerve zones. Every part of the human body is mapped on the feet, hands, ears, and even face. Unlike other massages that intend to mostly relieve tension, reflexology is a far more in-depth science that aims to harmonize your entire body. Reflexology treatments have been found to be highly effective for conditions such as allergies, headaches, and depression.
Athletic Performance Massage is a type of massage designed for highly active people who engage in athletics. Participating in any sport is harsh on the body and can often lead to injuries in both the short and long term. Athletic Performance Massage expands an athletes' capability and prolongs a sports career by helping to prevent injury, reduce pains and swelling in the body, relax the mind, increase flexibility, and dramatically improve recovery rates. Athletic Performance Massage is also highly effective in aiding the rapid recovery of an athlete from an injury by encouraging greater kinesthetic awareness and in turn promoting the body's natural immune function. Techniques used are scraping, cupping, stretching, deep tissue, Trigger Point Therapy, taping, hot stones, stretching, etc.
Neuromuscular therapy uses a holistic approach towards healing, emphasizing and stimulating the body's natural ability to heal itself. Neuromuscular therapy also enhances the function of joints and muscles, and accelerates the overall healing process by facilitating the release of endorphins.
Neuromuscular massage therapy is a specialized form of manual massage in which digital pressure and friction are used to release areas of strain in a muscle. Strain areas are called "Trigger Points", and they tend to be the cause of ongoing muscular pain symptoms, emotional, physical, and mental stress. These Trigger Points are usally located in the belly of the muscle instead of the energy pathways of the body. They are small tender areas of the muscle in which there is a contracture of tissue, and the lack of blood and nutrients in that area causes an inability for that muscle to relax. The area is hypersensitive and can cause pain, fatigue, and weakness in the muscle. Trigger points can lead to referral pain, which refers to a phenomenon in which areas far away from the trigger point experience sensations of pain, tingling or numbness.
Neuromuscular massage therapy involves applying alternating levels of concentrated pressure to the trigger point – usually using the fingers, knuckles or elbow. Once applied, the pressure should not vary for 10 to 30 seconds. It can be quite painful at times.
A deep tissue massage is a form of massage that is generally used to address muscle aches and pains associated with daily stress. Deep tissue massage is usually administered on an on-off basis whenever a client decides they need a bit of extra relaxation and rest.
Neuromuscular massage techniques, on the other hand, are medical in nature. The manual therapy techniques are highly-specialized and are designed to correct pain and movement dysfunction by treating trigger points, muscle adhesions, and connective tissue patterns. The problems are normally caused by a specific trauma, repetitive movements or even bad posture. Neuromuscular massage is considered an ongoing treatment – not just something a person does whenever they feel a bit achy.
This therapy can be added onto any other therapy.
Each system in the body, each organ, each cell, has a natural resonant frequency at which it vibrates. When certain vibrations of external origin, such as Tuning forks, pass through the body, they affect the parts that have a natural resonance with those specific vibrations. The body is a natural resonator, with each organ, tissue, bone, and fluid singing it's own song.
As the Tuning Forks are struck, the stem of the fork is then placed on a vertebrae to realign the Nervous System. Each vertebrae has it's different frequency because of the size and shape of the vertebrae. Applying vibrations to specific parts of the body can help the healing process.
This treatment can be done after your massage as an add-on or appointment only.
This Foot or Hand massage is relaxing and peaceful, it releases serotonin in the brain which will lead to a better night's sleep. But a better night sleep is not all massages do for our body.
It restores balance to the body by removing any blockages
If there is any stagnant energy in the specific organ, it releases tension in the area of pressure.
Decrease anxiety
A massage will relax the mind which means that overthinking, over analyzing, fearful thoughts, and tension are released. Anxiety symptoms are naturally relieved with massage.
Increased flexibility in wrists and fingers
People suffering from arthritis will benefit from a hand massage. It will break up the stiffness that is causing discomfort within. Massages increase the joints range or motion. They exercise the muscles which need help with lengthening without pain. This will also benefit people who have sports injuries or carpal tunnel syndrome.
Hand swelling
Hand massages will help with retained water.
Headaches/Migraines
Most headaches happen in the nerves, blood vessels, and muscles that are located in a person’s head and neck. Stimulating certain organs and the increase of blood flow can naturally relieve this stress.
Inonic Detox Foot Soak is only a 30 minute session. This treatment can be done after your massage as an add-on or appointment only. The Ionic Detox Foot Soak helps detox the body through the use of ionization. Just like when standing under a waterfall or walking on the beach, ions have a powerful charge that help the body cleanse more effectively with no side effects. It’s natural, it’s safe and it works great! The electrical current actually travels throughout the body and stimulates lasting detoxification effects.
This process is said to give the hydrogen in the water a positive charge. The positive charge is said to attract the negatively charged toxins in your body. The ions in the foot bath water supposedly hold a charge that enables them bind to any heavy metals and toxins in your body, similar to how a magnet works. This allows the toxins to be pulled out through the bottoms of your feet.
Myofascial massage is a technique used to treat injuries and discomfort, reducing pain and increasing range of motion. Myofascial massage differs from other types of massage in that it targets the fascia - the membrane surrounding muscles - rather than the muscle itself. Since fascia completely encases every muscle in the body, imbalances in the fascia can have serious effects on your range of motion and comfort level. While other forms of massage can overlook the fascia, myofascial massage focuses specifically on releasing tension in this important membrane. Techniques used are scraping, cupping, stretching, hot stones, etc.
Craniosacral Therapy builds upon the concept of "primary respiration" and regulating the flow of cerebrospinal fluid. Our bodies are designed to heal themselves. Using our own fluids in our bodies, moved throughout can bring healing. This is done using therapeutic touch to manipulate the synarthrodial joints of the cranium. Light touch and very light pressure is used on specific points on the skull, face, spine, and pelvis to regulate flow.
CranioSacral Therapy is a gentle yet powerful technique that is effective in releasing neck pain, back pain, mental, and emotional stress (among other things). It does this by optimizing the movement of cerebrospinal fluid through the spine and around the skull. Developed by physician William Sutherland, this therapy provides a very soothing and relaxing healing experience. Treatments can last from 30-90mins.
Prenatal Massage is a style of bodywork designed specifically for pregnant women. Pregnancy is a time when a woman's body endures tremendous stress due to dramatic physical and emotional changes. Using various techniques specially developed for the expecting mother, Prenatal Massage helps release the pain and discomfort experienced throughout pregnancy. The benefits are profound, including emotional support, the relief of joint pain due to extra weight and postural imbalance, and improved breathing and relaxation. Prenatal Massage is recommended only during second and third trimester.
Hot Stone Therapy is a style of massage where heated stones are placed at specific sites on your body to deepen relaxation and promote circulation in your muscles. Muscles that are heated with these stones release tension and stress much more deeply and quickly than with a traditional massage. The overall experience is very relaxing, nurturing, and rejuvenating.
